Every fuel system answers to more than one authority having jurisdiction. In New York that is usually a county health department plus NYSDEC plus the fire marshal. Who has jurisdiction, and what they enforce
Suffolk County runs one of the strictest tank programs in the country and sits on top of NYSDEC Part 613. Nassau and Westchester have their own articles. Virginia DEQ runs the UST and AST programs under 9VAC25-580 and 9VAC25-91.
