Supply the existing generator
A double-wall steel tank with 110% secondary containment provides 252 gallons of working capacity. Dedicated supply and return piping connects it to the existing generator.
Diesel AST for Emergency Power — New York
A 280-gallon double-wall diesel tank serving an existing emergency generator, with a remote fill point, contained exterior fill piping and high-level warning at the delivery location.

Construction complete · SCDHS final approval

The facility needed to replace its existing diked diesel aboveground storage tank serving an emergency generator. Its installation required a coordinated route between the indoor equipment and an accessible outdoor fill point.
ZE provided design and permitting for the replacement diesel AST. The fueling-system design drawings addressed the tank arrangement, generator supply and return piping, remote filling, venting and monitoring.
The design connected a compact indoor tank installation with the equipment needed for outdoor fuel delivery, while retaining the existing emergency generator.
A double-wall steel tank with 110% secondary containment provides 252 gallons of working capacity. Dedicated supply and return piping connects it to the existing generator.
The outdoor fill connection includes a five-gallon spill container. Steel primary fill piping runs within fiberglass secondary containment outside, transitioning to single-wall piping inside the building.
The design combines overfill prevention, tank-level and interstitial monitoring, and an exterior audible/visual high-level alarm positioned near the fill connection.

The fueling-system drawings coordinated fill and vent routes with wall penetrations, pipe supports and the indoor tank location. Normal and emergency venting, an anti-siphon valve on the supply line, anchoring and grounding were included in the installation details.
These connections demonstrate how emergency-generator fuel storage requires the same attention to containment, delivery access and monitoring as other facility fueling systems.
The design connects the replacement diesel AST to the existing emergency generator through dedicated supply and return lines. Tank connections, valves and the piping route were addressed in ZE’s fueling-system design drawings.

Suffolk County Department of Health Services issued a Permit to Construct for the new indoor diesel tank and subsequently granted final construction approval after the project was completed and inspected. County-approved as-built plans document the completed arrangement.
ZE provided fueling-system design and permitting. The plans carry certification by a professional engineer licensed in New York. Installation and county inspection were performed by others.
